We can’t believe Peter the Rock is going to conclude its run in just nine weeks. It makes me sad to think about so many who will miss seeing Glenn’s truly amazing portrayal of Peter. I have never seen audiences leave a theater with such expressions on their faces, and such heartfelt words of encouragement for Glenn, for me, and our whole team.
This experience has been more graifying than any of us could have dreamt it would be. We have all joined audiences to see Peter the Rock 43 times now, and I am struck each and every time by how real Peter has become to me. My brother is an amazing actor, but as I tell our audience every night, he is a man so like Peter in many ways. He leads with his heart, and he gives that heart to this role completely. Every night, alone on a stage for almost an hour, Glenn brings Peter to life for us. I never grow tired of seeing the grizzled old apostle’s passion, both fierce and tender. Nor his humor, in the face of certain torture and death. Peter’s love for his Lord and friend reaches through the centuries, transcends the artifice of theater, and we in the audience get to see it firsthand. It is beyond acting. I can only hope our 400 seats are filled throughout these last weeks of the production of Peter the Rock.
Ragtown Gospel Theater is a remarkable place, and people are discovering it, telling their friends, and we deeply appreciate such dedicated word of mouth advertising. But, simply stated, we need more people coming to every performance.
We would ask you to help us by letting your friends, family members, Sunday School class, and others in your church family know about this wonderful place. Christian people need a place to go, in groups, families, or couples, where they will find uplifting entertainment and the fellowship of others who know Christ. We have set out to provide such a place for the South Plains, and we are letting our needs be known to all who can help us…through your attendance, donations, and continued support through the inspired words you share with others about your experience here. Thank you.
And Bless Y’all,
Chip
